Welcome B. Bernice Young School families! 

The YSFA (Young School Family Association) involvement with the school helps to enhance the work of the teachers and staff.   Working together we can build a better educational environment for our children.  It is our goal to ensure that the children have the best learning experience that we can provide them.  Of course, in order to be able to provide all these events, we need fundraising activities.  On behalf of the children, staff, and teachers, we are all so thankful for your help in these efforts.

The YSFA is especially active in providing services and programs as well as sponsoring events.  Again this year, we are sponsoring two Scholastic Book Fairs, Fun Day, Field Trips, Birthday Celebrations and several Family Fun Nights. These are only a few of the fantastic events we have planned for your children.  We can’t wait to meet you and your family at these functions.

We are excited for this year and we can’t wait to share our events with your children. We had such a great response to our social nights at Chuck E Cheese, we are going to continue going there this year.  We have also added social nights at Friendly’s.

Finally, take a moment and review the information we have gathered in this handbook. You will find information on different events we sponsor and our fundraising programs.  Please fill out the Membership form, the Homeroom Parent form and return back to school in the provided envelope.  There is a YSFA calendar of events as well as a spirit wear order form for your use.  Don’t forget, school spirit day is every Friday.
